I am 6'-5" tall, weigh 180lbs, and usually wear a size 36 jeans (with a belt) and these in size "xl" fit almost perfect without a belt or drawstring!Pros: They look really cool, have a functional built in draw string that works well (in case you forget your belt or don't want a belt), functional belt loops, extra places for 2 additional sets of chains on both sides, they can be easily converted into shorts (leg bottoms easily zipper off\on), they are made out of pretty durable fabric (by todays denim standards), good quality stitching, not much baggier than a pair of one size bigger than your usual "relaxed fit" jeans, -as shorts, the cut is nicely below the knee, the chains do not affect being able to sit comfortably, and the chains are detachable (via velcro loops on their ends) 5 stars for these things!Cons: The chains (& my reasoning for 4 stars instead of 5) are pretty chincy, they seem like they could have been made out of heavy duty paper clip wire, not as big of links as shown in the pics above and can break very easily! The "handcuffs" are just an illusion cut out of a piece of thin flat shiny metal (that bends very EASILY, mine came bent from shipping). The upper main pockets are pretty shallow, barely enough room for a pack of smokes & a lighter (about the depth of the length from the tip of your finger, to the knuckles on your hand, or a pack of king size smokes standing upright), not nearly as baggy as you would expect from their pictures unless you go up a size or 2, & the cargo pockets don't "latch". -so a viable reasoning to justify the loss of one star; everything else about these pants is AWESOME!Pro tip: If you're handy with tools and have a hacksaw or means to cut chain (& don't mind ditching the fake "handcuff" looking trace outs), you can make WAYYY better\nicer chains out of a $20 (or less) six foot dog leash that you gotta cut the ends off of & then cut the chain itself in half, some heavy duty one inch key rings to put on ea of the 4 ends of chain (try to examine them and make sure they look like they are made of "heavy duty" thick metal, not thin stuff cuz these have to be semi weight bearing in the event they get caught on something; -I went w the "silipac heavy duty nickle plated key rings" also here on amazon),-and 4: two inch "swivel slide bolt latch hooks" that you can put on ea of the key rings (you NEED smaller versions of what the leash comes with, & the 3.5" ones are WAY to big & "clunky" for this application; the ones i bought say "bytiyar" on the bag they came in), amazon sells them here in packs of 8 cheaper than just buying 2 pairs, -so u can either have some spares, make another set of secondary chains which these pants can accommodate, or use them to put "breaks" in the long chains to add something). The dog leash i went with was an "amazon basics" brand ($20 or <) which came in 3 different available thicknesses (I went w the thickest one they had... ..one size down would also be ok, but the thinnest one they got wouldn't look right for how long they are against the pants), and for as heavy of a chain as the thick leash is, you don't really notice the weight once installed on the pants! The leash chain itself is a nice "cuban link" style, nice & thick, very shiny, almost looks like jewelry, -which looks WAYYY better than what the pants came with, and definitely way more durable too! And even with chains that are 6x the thickness, there is still ZERO issue with being able to sit on hard surfaces!-Definitely an awesome upgrade worth considering, which added up to a lil under $40, and took less than 15 mins of time!Overall, they are -REALLY- cool pants and are of really good quality (w the exception of the stock chains), & I am most definitely looking forward to collecting more of the other styles!
