I bought these to install a decorative wood rack over the inside of a window frame in a manner that I could swing the frame open in the event I needed to use the fire escape. The wood rack will be used to hold decorative antique glass items so the outdoor light shines through them. The flat black finish works well with the black paint on the wood frame. These are almost as sturdy as any standard door hinge. There will be roughly 50 LBS of glass and frame to be supported by these and I have every confidence that they will hold up to that weight at 25 LBS per hinge. They are very sturdy. Be careful these are NOT scratch resistant. I scratched one with the tip of a steel wood screw by accident. Fortunately that is not visible where this will be.
