I bought these door locks as replacements for installation on several vinyl sliding glass doors. They fit the existing holes which was the goal. The product works as advertised but I question the long term reliability of the spring loaded latch retreat mechanism. So far, so good but I suspect these units will fail in the same way as the originals - the latch retreat locking mechanism eventually fails. That becomes a problem since the door locks every time you shut the door. That's annoying especially if you are stuck on the outside.
