The bottom where the pivot device is slowly softened from mopping moisture & not being painted/sealed, and basically crushed in on itself. I had to use a sanding block and a scraper to thin down the door a bit bc it had flared with the moisture damage. But I was able to thin it, get the metal piece on & screwed it into the bottom. The metal piece then held the pivot device correctly in place & the door works great now. It’s a great, cheap way to either fix an issue like this or PREVENT it from occurring by applying proactively. When we replace our bifold doors, we will preemptively put these brackets on the bottoms.Saw this device on a YouTube video where the guy needed to repair bifold doors & was really grateful that such a device exists. Be sure to measure your existing doors width across the bottom bc these brackets come in a few sizes and it isn’t just 1 standard size fits all.
